Bathurst

UnitingCare Bathurst offers a range of programs for adults with a disability. These programs include:

 

Community Participation Programs (CPP)

The Community Participation Program is for adults who have a disability who currently receive, or are approved to receive, a Community Participation funding package from the Department of Family and Community Services Aging Disability and Homecare. The Community Participation Program offered by UnitingCare Lithgow aims to maintain and develop life skills and increase independence of adults with a disability upon leaving school. It encourages the person to continue learning and participate in meaningful leisure, recreational, social and cultural activities. It encourages them to participate and be included in the local community by having an active and valuable role. It also aims to expand friendships and support networks and support making the transition from school to adult life. The program runs from Monday to Friday (with the exception of Public Holidays) and a daily access fee applies for this service. Some additional expenses may be involved with some outings eg Lunch.

 

Transition to Work (TTW)

The Transition to Work Program is a two year program designed to assist school leavers with a disability to gain work related skills to assist them in finding ongoing employment. Placements in the program are reserved for people who have been approved by the Department of Family and Community Services Aging Disability and Homecare for Transition to Work Program Funding. The program offers:

  • Work Experience Placements
  • Tailored personal programs
  • Group activities and life skills
  • Personalised on the job training and assistance
  • Assistance to undertake further educational studies

 

Community Access and Day Programs (CADP)

The UnitingCare Community Access and Day Program is designed to assist those people with a disability who do not already receive assistance through any other post school program (CPP, TTW or PSO). The program offers a wide range of activities including day and evening activities, community access and living skills. The service aims to promote the independence and integration of adults with a disability into the community. The service runs in Lithgow from Monday to Friday (with the exception of Public Holidays) and a daily access fee applies for this service. Some additional expenses may be involved with some outings.

 

What does it cost?

A contribution towards the cost of services is discussed with all service users however no one will be refused service due to financial hardship.
